Michigan Simulation User Group

Hi!  I'm Mike Allen and I'm the MSUG Steering Committee member responsible for looking after the web-site throughout 2009.

Last year, we discussed ways to make our web-site a little more useful to you, our members and to the simulation community in Michigan in general.  The result is our new, re-launched web-site.  As before, we'll use the site to announce events such as our General Membership Meetings and Annual Conferences, publish papers presented at these events, publish our newsletter, list simulation-related software, organizations and service providers and tell you about MSUG.  In addition, the new site provides some new features that we hope you will find useful too: news, blogs, discussion forums, job postings and opinion polls.  It's now also possible to search the site's content.

Of course, any web-site is ultimately only as good as the content on it.  This is where you come in!  Have you just removed the shrink-wrapping off the latest and greatest version of your simulation weapon of choice?  Why not blog about your experiences with it?  If you're like me, you'll be far more interested in reading what real-life simulation modelers think of the tools they use than what the vendor's marketing department may have to say.  Are you stuck facing an obstacle in a modeling project?  Whether you're a simulation expert or novice, a problem shared is a problem halved.  So why not post a question in a discussion forum and solicit suggestions from your simulation peers?  Or, if you see a question that you know the answer to, then take a moment to help.  Is your company recruiting simulation staff?  I hope so, the economy needs a boost right now!  If so, consider submitting a job posting.  The MSUG community is a pool of talented simulation practitioners that you can utilize.  In short, participation is welcome!
