Presentation Abstract
Elements of a successful inbound supply chain will be presented, with the objectives of reducing inventory, providing complete part level visibility, optimizing weekly and daily inbound transportation, and simplifying material management. Details of the engineering process which eliminates waste and manages material flow, the operations management defining the function and location of personnel, and the IT support systems will be described.
Speaker Biography
Mr. Bailiff is a logistics and engineering professional with 16 years of experience in strategic supply chain consulting, facility design, industrial engineering consulting, and manufacturing engineering. He has executed engineering projects for over 120 manufacturing and distribution locations throughout his career. He began his career in the automotive industry working for Ford Motor Company, holding a number of cross functional positions including plant systems support, manufacturing process modeling, and manufacturing engineering to support greenfield facility implementations. He then spent the next 6 years performing industrial engineering and systems consulting. For the past 4 years he has worked at Ryder where his focus has been split between business development for major distribution projects and engineering support for key retail, grocery, and high-tech accounts. Mr. Bailiff holds a BSIE from Purdue University, MSIE from University of Illinois, and an MBA from Oakland University.
